Bob Biro (1930-1999) was a long-time lead trumpeter in the Valley Winds. A friend to all our members, Bob went out of his way to involve people in music and to nurture the careers of young musicians.
Beginning in 2000, the Valley Winds has remembered Bob Biro by awarding a scholarship to a graduating high school student who has participated in the Valley Winds and has exemplified Bob's traits of leadership and musicianship.
Funds for the Bob Biro Memorial Scholarship come from donations by members of the Valley Winds, Bob's friends, and from the proceeds of an annual benefit concert.
